Patrick Molard is currently considered one of the greatest specialists of the Scots cornemuse in Europe.

He began his study of the instrument in 1965 while with the bagad of St-Malo, and he joined the pipe band « An Ere » in Rennes in 1969. He presented this group in Scotland and Canada from 1970 to 1973 and concurrently won numerous competitions as a soloist. Fortified with the teachings of the celebrated « sonneur » Bob Brown, he returned to Brittany and became a professional musician in Alan Stivell’s group. An actor in the Breton « revival », he also played with the groups Satanazet, Ogham, Gwendal, Gwerz and created with Dan Ar Braz the famous pairing of cornemuse and guitar.

Patrick Molard won the Trophée Macallan at the Lorient Interceltic Festival 3 years in a row, 1980, 1981 and 1982. He also teaches the uillean pipes, the biniou and the Scots cornemuse.
